GOYA ANNOUNCEMENT

If you are in 7th grade or older, come join the Arlington GOYA (Greek Orthodox Youth of America)!  Note the change from age to grade.  We plan social activities, community service, and service to the church.  Our most recent social event was the GOYA Beach Day on June 19th.  A good number of Goyans and familily members met at the church and drove to Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester and enjoyed the beautiful beach day together!  Other activities are the annual GOYA semi, Family Glendi, the Walk for Hunger, and ski trip.

Our first meeting will be the first day of Sunday Church School, September 19th.  We will meet right after church in the room next to the altar.  We will hold elections for GOYA officers that day.

Within two weeks after this first meeting, we will have a kick-off activity.  The date and exact plans are to be announced; one idea is laser-tag and a party afterwards.

Thank you for being visitor number:

St. Athanasius the Great is also known as the father of Orthodoxy.  St. Athanasius is probably the man to whom we chiefly owe the preservation of the Christian faith. He was born around AD 298, and lived in Alexandria, Egypt, the chief center of learning of the Roman Empire.

In partnership with the Orthodox Marketplace, the Department of Internet Ministries has created a customized online bookstore for Saint Athanasius the Great. As the official online store of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese, the Orthodox Marketplace serves as a single source for books, icons, educational material, music, DVDs published by Archdiocesan departments and other Orthodox Christian distributors.

Not only is this site an excellent resource for Orthodox Christian items, our parish will receive 10% of each order placed through our personalized site!! Click below to enter our store.
