At the center of the Little Halos preschool/prekindergarten curriculum is theme-study within the context of play. Theme-study encourages in-depth learning through hands-on experiences emerging from children's interest in particular concepts and/or curiosity about certain phenomena. This thematic learning is integrated into all aspects of the day be it arts and crafts or play time. We carefully and intentionally expand children's knowledge through drama, creative movements, stories, poetry, painting, writing, and play. No two children are the same and we believe that no two educational experiences should be the same; to this end we give each child the opportunity to learn in many different ways.
Children are encouraged to participate in the following:
| 8:30 | STUDENTS ARRIVE |
| The Teacher welcomes and receives the students. Planned play stations are available to allow for a smooth parent-child "good-bye" |
|
| 9:00 | MORNING PRAYER |
| The teacher will lead a morning prayer in front of the icons and portable altar. The children learn to make their cross and to recite prayers with the teacher. | |
